Position Description
We are currently seeking motivated, hardworking individuals for our Class 1 Driver role in our Edmonton location.
Position Responsibilities
- Operate and drive mainly Quad wagon dump truck combination vehicle, step deck, flatbed, and reefer over 4500 kg to transport goods and materials over long distances.
- Should posses and should be quick learner and ready to work as a team
- Coordinate with shop staff and fleet drivers on a frequent basis to ensure all the necessary material and supplies are considered.
- Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled and fuel consumption.
- Ensure cargo is secured properly in accordance with safety requirements and follow safety procedures for transporting dangerous goods.
- Communicate with dispatch on a regular basis to ensure delivery is completed
- Ensure Pretrip and Posttrip inspections are completed in a timely manner.
- Perform manual and electronic dataentry on a frequent basis.
- Ensure the appropriate PPE is worn as all times
- May perform emergency roadside repairs.
- May transport hazardous products or dangerous goods.
Knowledge, Skills and Competencies
- 15 years of driving experience is preferred
- Must possess a valid Class 1 license
- Exceptional verbal communication skills
- Prior experience operating Quad wagon dump truck
- Must be able to successfully pass all required training, background check, and drug and alcohol testing.
- Truck driving in all types of weather conditions
