Description

As our Fire Suppression Technician, you will be responsible for a wide variety of in-field fire services such as:

installing, inspecting, maintaining, modifying, and servicing fire suppression systems at commercial, industrial, and institutional sites;
Reading and interpreting diagrams, specifications, schematics, and operational/product manuals;
Evaluating issues to determine specific solutions and recommendations for customers and management;
Preparing stock materials for daily execution of assigned work orders and optimizing material utilization;
Completing daily reports of completed work orders and activities;
Ensuring safe work practices are followed safety leadership is demonstrated in all aspects of the job;
Mentoring other team members including trainees and field service labour; and
Participating in 24/7 oncall/call out emergency service.

- a qualified fire suppression technician or possess experience/training in a mechanical trade;
- able to safely execute high quality work on-time, every time;
- professional, highly motivated, and a self-starter;
- attentive to details;
- possess strong communication and customer service skills;
- able to work both collaboratively with the team, as well as independently;
- focused on delivering high quality service and support to our customers;
- a strong problem solver;
- flexible to address changing situations and priorities;
- able to operate various power tools and machinery including but not limited to pipe threaders, pipe cutters, groovers and core drills; and
- knowledgeable of relevant fire codes and standards.

They must also possess a valid driver's license and be able to travel to and work out of remote client sites.

Overtime and overnight travel will be required; therefore, hours of work/schedule will vary.
