Hours per Week :70 hours bi-weekly and at least 2 shifts in a month respectively

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Coordinator of Shelter Services, the Shelter Worker (SW) will provide assistance, support and advocacy to individuals accessing shelter.
The Shelter Worker will focus on building and maintaining relationships, providing a safe place to sleep; assisting in diversion, connecting to community support services for housing, and mental health and addiction when identified by the individual based on their needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A postsecondary degree or diploma in human services or related discipline (minimum 2 years) OR A postsecondary degree or diploma in human services or related field (1 year) plus 1 year experience working in the mental health/addictions field or 1 year experience working with marginalized populations.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with marginalized populations experiencing homelessness and a demonstrated ability to form rapport with targeted populations.
- Experience within the Mental Health/Addictions setting considered an asset.
- Certification in First Aid & CPR; Certification in NVCI an asset
Salary information:
- Hourly, Step 1: $ Step 2: $22.6
- Annually, Step 1: 39, Step 2: 41, _Fulltime permanent_)
