Join Affordable Housing Fund team in the Specialist, Multi-Unit Underwriting position. In this role, you will build strong client relationships and support the achievement of our government program objectives.


This contract will end in January 2026.

Number of openings: 4 temporary full-time positions.

What you'll do:


  • Maintain quality relationships with clients to understand their needs and objectives and explore opportunities.
  • Work in partnership with clients, stakeholders, and various levels of government by offering advice, support and alternative solutions.
  • Communicate decisions, interpret policies and respond to inquiries related to CMHC's housing programs.
  • Provide input to shape functional policies, products, and processes.
  • Prepare briefing notes, submissions, issue papers, dockets, and responses to Ministerial and Presidential correspondence related to the delivery of CMHC's Housing programs.

What you should have:


  • A bachelor's degree in business, finance, or commerce
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction financing, real estate, financial markets and credit risk analysis.
  • A demonstrated experience working with financial viability and loan approvals.
  • The ability to research issues, analyze problems, synthesize information and make recommendations.
  • The ability to manage files and issues (sensitive in nature) using critical thinking and judgement.
  • The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Strong problemsolving and analytical skills.
