Building Brains is a growing Accredited Early Childhood Learning Institute in Saskatoon, that continues to set the standard for excellence.
Building Brains is passionate about moving forward through strong professional development, and as such, provides regular, in-house professional development courses in Education programs and practices.
Instructional Coach (for a maternity leave contract) and the details are as follows:
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Collects, analyses, and utilises data gathered from district, school, and classroom assessments to guide support, and assist with building an asset over deficit based environment for teachers and students.
- Utilises Building Brains and childhood licensing best practices in supervision with children in school and academy settings.
- Supports the instructional growth of teachers, as teacher leaders, by modelling the use of, and supporting teachers with, effective instructional practices and integrating instructional technology appropriately.
- Develops and conducts training, professional development, and professional learning experiences to affect changes and improvements in elements of the District standardsbased system, including lesson/unit design, behaviours, and delivery of teaching.
- Assists the building principal and the building teacher leadership in problemsolving, planning improvement goals, and creating and implementing the building professional development plan.
- Responds to inquiries from District staff concerning materials, teaching methods, and special projects; assists in developing special programs. Shares knowledge of current educational trends with building staff to implement researchbased best practices and strategies in support of District initiatives.
- Demonstrates effective instructional delivery aligned to the District instructional framework, coaches, models, and supports effective instructional practices by addressing the social, emotional, and learning needs of educators.
- Strategizes and implements behaviour interventions based on research, environment, and data as appropriate.
What you bring (Preferred Skills and Qualifications):
- Montessori certification is required.
- Knowledge of Academic Content and Instructional Best Practices Skilled at Data Analysis and Manipulation.
- Ability to Make Data Understandable and Actionable Interpersonal Skills Cultural Awareness Critical Thinking
- Demonstrated ability to successfully work with teachers in a collaborative role.
- Ability to analyze formal and informal data from reading and writing assessments.
- Successful experience in providing staff development in both large and small groups and mentoring teachers.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to handle intense emotional situations.
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
