Scheduling Coordinator
Full-Time 1.0 FTE (37.5 hours/week)

Reporting to the Clinical Supervisor or designate, the Scheduling Coordinator supports the delivery of Primary
Care programming for EOPCN's centralized clinical services. The Scheduling Coordinator uses strong customer
service skills and clerical processes as a member of the clinical support team, in the delivery of excellent quality
care to meet the needs of the patient/client.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:


  • Review service referral requests and contact patients to book appointments according to patient need,
- urgency, and established referral pathways.
  • Ensure patients are provided with booking information and educational materials required for initial
- appointments, follow-ups and scheduled workshops.
  • Communicate with specialists, primary care physicians and multidisciplinary team members on status of

- appointments.
  • Chart relevant data into the patient's EMR record.
  • Answer questions about EOPCN programs and services.
  • Adhere to workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain privacy and confidentiality of patient demographics and health information according to
- legislation (Health Information Act) and EOPCN policies.
  • Attend clinical team meetings.
  • Provide regular updates to clinical leadership and health care providers on wait times, demand for in
- person and evening appointments, and appointment capacity.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities.
  • Participate in the orientation of new employees.
  • Greet and welcome clients and patients in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Answer and direct incoming calls.
  • Address and resolve inquiries and issues promptly and professionally.
  • Operate autoclave equipment for the sterilization of laboratory and medical equipment
  • Assist with various administrative tasks as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate of an approved Medical Office Assistant program required.
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
  • Telephone etiquette and customer service skills.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Detailoriented and qualityfocused.
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize.
  • Electronic Medical Record experience, with knowledge of Accuro EMR a strong asset.
  • A minimum of oneyear scheduling/reception experience in a medical office setting is required.
  • CPR is an asset.
  • Customer Service Skills training is an asset.
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training is an asset.
  • A Criminal Record/Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector check.
