Toyota Tsusho Canada, Inc.is a Canadian division of a multinational Japanese trading firm with numerous interests in supply-chain activities, intermediate goods production, scrap metal recycling and manufacturing-related services.
The Health and Safety Coordinator, under the direction and support of the Management team will be responsible for championing the company's Occupational Safety Program.
This position must promote a positive safety culture while monitoring safe work practices in effort to minimize accidents and injuries throughout the facility.
The Health and Safety Specialist must lead by example to achieve and exceed results.Competencies:

Job Functions/Duties:
- Maintain awareness and implement amendments to the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) and Regulations
- Perform job site safety compliance inspections including hazard analysis, risk assessments, safe work procedures, written reports, and recommendations.
- Maintain the OHSMS and Global Standards Safety elements and all documentation required.
- Execute the forklift observation and auditing program in association to the requirements as defined by the OHMS.
- Conduct safety training to ensure compliance.
- Coordinate inspections, investigations, and occupational safety activities with leadership
- Direct and review the analysis of accident and injury data, identifying the needs for new or modified occupational safety programs.
- Maintain updates to the BBO program while ensuring constant compliance with program requirements.
- Support the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
- Identify kaizen opportunities including cost, safety, and time savings.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- 35 years' experience in similar H&S roles.
- Warehouse/Manufacturing experience considered to be an asset.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations.
- Forklift experience considered a strong asset.
- Mechanical aptitude; physically and comprehensively
Work Conditions:
