The Plant and Animal Health Branch (PAHB) in British Columbia is dedicated to ensuring the sustainability of animal and plant agriculture and safeguarding public well-being.

This is achieved through diagnostic services, surveillance, risk assessment, and the development of strategies to mitigate identified risks.

The Plant Health Unit (PHU) within PAHB focuses on addressing plant health issues that impact agricultural productivity, environmental sustainability, and crop competitiveness.

It includes the Plant Health Laboratory, which diagnoses problems caused by insects and diseases affecting crops and plants.

The Animal Health Centre (AHC) is a prominent full-service veterinary laboratory in Western Canada, offering over 400 diagnostic tests for various animal species, including wildlife, mammals, fish, reptiles, and amphibians.

AHC plays a critical role in protecting human health by promptly and accurately diagnosing zoonotic diseases in the public health and food safety sectors, such as SARS-CoV-2, influenza, and Salmonella


The Client Services Supervisor position within the Plant and Animal Health Branch provides an excellent service experience to citizens and businesses across a broad range of laboratory services provided in the Animal Health Centre and Plant Diagnostic Laboratory.

The Client Services Supervisor plays a crucial role in driving business growth by managing client relationships effectively, maximizing revenue opportunities, and leading a team to deliver exceptional service.


This role requires a blend of leadership, analytical skills, and a deep understanding of client needs and market dynamics while providing an excellent service experience to citizens, businesses, clients, and partners in British Columbia.


Job Requirements:


  • Diploma or higher in human resources, business administration, financial management, science, or other related field from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in providing customer/client service.
  • Minimum of 3 years of clerical/administrative experience and/or relevant training.
  • Experience leading teams, projects, or the delivery of a program.
  • Experience resolving customer/client complaints or addressing issues within a team.
  • Supervisory or managerial experience associated with laboratory sections in a diagnostic laboratory setting.
  • Experience with accounting principles, procedures, and financial policies.
  • Experience with conflict management and dealing with emotionally charged individuals or groups.

This position has full time on-site requirements.
