#1 in the Canadian Generic & Biosimilar drug market is what Sandoz Canada is aiming for We are currently looking for a Manager, Financial Reporting & Accounting to manage and oversee our day-to day accounting activities. Sandoz Canada is a very dynamic organization were our people is a the center of our activities.

  • Your responsibilities includes but not limited to:
  • Responsible for leading and coordinating the day-to-day general accounting activities (i.e. recording of journal entries, preparation of monthly account reconciliations, recording intercompany transactions, etc.)
  • Monthend reporting and closing activities in strict adherence to timelines and deadlines (i.e. adhoc analyses, variance explanations, regional requests for important metrics, etc.)
  • Timely submission of financial results and reports to Head office (FCRS, NPMR etc.)
  • Ensure strict compliance with SOX/ Novartis Financial Controls Manual (NFCM) control activities
  • Responsible for reviewing new and/ or proposed contracts/ agreements and figuring out appropriate accounting treatment and preparing the technical Accounting Position Paper (APP). (i.e. through collaboration with BPA, Strategic Sourcing and Business divisions to understand the substance of the transactions)
  • Ensure business transactions are accounted for in accordance with the approved accounting guidance.
  • Preparation of statutory financial statements and any required local and statistical reporting required by Canada
  • Responsible for the integrity and maintenance of SAP master data in the G\L

Minimum requirements

  • What you'll bring to the role:
  • Qualifications:
  • Professional accounting designation (CA, CGA) and B.Comm. and demonstrated ability in accounting (4-5 years experience), including experience in a public accounting firm.
  • Excellent understanding of financial information systems, local and international accounting standards (GAAP and IFRS)
  • Excellent computer skills with advanced knowledge of MS Office Excel
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Strong and effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Bilingualism: English and French.
