The role of Human Resources Business Partner is an exciting opportunity for a results-oriented leader.

This position requires a collaborative senior human resources professional who is capable of providing expert advice, consultation and strategic direction to the business while creating and maintaining a healthy and inclusive workplace culture.

The Human Resources Business Partner is a Senior Consultant role that works collaboratively with internal Human Resources Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to provide Human Resources Leadership support to the Senior Leaders of the client groups they support.

Participating as a member of the client groups leadership team, the HRBP acts as a technical resource, providing a holistic approach in the direction, advice and guidance to senior leaders on issues relating to HR management.


Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

As the Human Resources Business Partner you will be able to:

  • Build and maintain effective business relationships with client groups, ensuring appropriate HR strategies are delivered and incorporated while providing advice and guidance on various HR disciplines.
  • Consult and support leaders on business planning, workforce planning and day to day operational needs through identification, development, implementation, and assessment, including providing strategic advice and consultation on HR strategy expertise in organization structure, headcount management, job descriptions, total rewards and talent management.
  • Collaborate with HR SMEs, including program design and assessing risks through consulting internally with colleagues (e.g. Employee Labour Relations, Compensation, HR Analytics, Talent Management).
  • Advise leaders on policies and related legislation and facilitate compliance with these procedures, including managing risks and resolving conflicts.
  • Lead the development of planned outcomes and measures related to the managing and development of people, including coaching and developing executive leaders to grow/enhance peoplemanagement capabilities.

Job Requirements:


  • Postsecondary education specializing in the Human Resources Management field. Plus a minimum of five (5) years progressive experience in various key human resources disciplines including performance management, employee relations, organizational design, change management, talent management and employment law, including a minimum of five (5) years' experience in a leadership role.
  • Certified Human Resources Leaser (CHRL) designation is an asset.
  • Demonstrated strong functional knowledge of best practices and standards related to Human Resources; including experience working in a unionized environment, experience supporting multiple large client groups, and a strong understanding of related policies and legislation.
  • Business planning knowledge including analytical skills to assess business needs, change management experience, and the ability to use data to support business decisions.
  • Possesses strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and engage a team of professionals.
  • Thrives in a high volume and continuously changing environment with a passion for exceptional client service delivery and possesses integrity, openness, sound judgment, and confidence.
  • Demonstrated internal consulting capability with leaders and a strong ability to influence.
  • Known for being a critical thinker and actionoriented with a proven ability to deliver successful measurable outcomes from development through to implementation; including strong communication skills demonstrated through collaborating with stakeholders, creation of business cases, and presentations.
