About the Opportunity:


Reporting to the Health Services Manager, the Booking and Registration Clerk is responsible for greeting and registration of patients; for the scheduling, booking and communicating of appointments; for the procurement of health records for the patient visit; for coordination and booking of diagnostic tests and communicating these to patients; for assisting in the general organization, patient flow and efficiency of the ambulatory clinic; and for maintaining accurate clinic statistics as required.


The position may be required to provide assistance and coverage throughout the Orthopedic Clinics and Pre-habilitation programs in Central Zone.


About You:

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • One-year Administrative program, or Grade XII plus one-year related experience required
  • Medical Terminology course preferred
  • Experience using PHS and STAR, preferably in an ambulatory care setting; Advanced PHS training preferred
  • Computer experience (Windows, MS Office) and typing/keyboarding are required Minimum of 40 wpm with accuracy
  • Customer service courses an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Coordination, organization and decision making abilities must be present
  • Ability to function independently and as a member of a team
  • Ability to work in a high volume and highpressure setting
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours:

Permanent, Full Time; 70 hours bi-weekly


Compensation and Incentives:

$ $21.91 hourly
