DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


Job Retention Responsibilities:

  • Work with an integrated service delivery and case management model including case conferencing, service referrals to support a holistic and wrap around service to support employability
  • Maintain frequent contact with participants to track their progress
  • Provide onetoone follow up for job or career coaching, to address issues similar to reemployment or provide referral to further training and education and/or life skills
  • Create opportunities for current/post program networking and learning events/activities, in order to reaffirm and build on program lessons
  • Regularly discuss clients process and status with colleagues
  • Make recommendations to job developer team for intensive in work supports or accommodations needed to assist in developing strategies to support clients with complex needs.
  • Provide on the job support as needed

Career Counselling Responsibilities:

  • Administer and evaluate indepth assessment instruments to create and support achievable, realistic and individualized EAP this may include vocational, ergonomic, worksite assessments
  • Update client files, EAP, progress and provide statistical reporting and other documentation in identified case management systems and databases
  • Provide onetoone motivational coaching for participants on pre/postemployment and job search skills based on individual client needs outside of the mandatory workshops, as required
  • Provide counselling and coaching in life skills that support successful employment based on the needs of each participant and/or referrals to external organizations for specialized services include disability, health mental health & addiction etc.
  • Provide support to clients in assessing their current circumstances/qualifications against job requirements and labour market information
  • Provide assistance to clients to better understand the local labour market and information and ensure local data is available for client/employers to understand opportunities and trends.
  • Provide supported referral and access to other services including but not limited to community services (mental health, housing, income, basic needs etc.)
  • Provide coaching and support for education & training including, but not limited to upgrading/adult learning, postsecondary, skills specific training and credential/language assessment
  • Identify those in need of additional job coaching support post employability skills development through discussion with participants and/or the employer as appropriate
  • Provide onetoone follow up for job or career coaching, to address issues similar to reemployment or provide referral to further training, education or life skills and internal case conferencing or with OW, ODSP partner organizations for integrated services.

Facilitation Responsibilities:

  • Develop and administer retention programming geared primarily to improving the employability of clients prior to them exploring employment opportunities
  • Deliver a suite of preand postemployment workshops; career exploration/identification, employment preparation, life skills, employment related skills and job retention
  • Ensure curriculum remains current and relevant to participant needs (including specialist groups)

Responsibilities:


  • Utilize the client/data management system for tracking clients and case management activities, conducting follow up, Education, Work, Transition supports and recording activities including but not limited to EAP activities/updates, client support, stipend payment, service coordination and file closures
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • University Degree or related College Diploma or demonstrated skills and experience
  • 2 years demonstrated skills and experience in facilitation, career counselling and job retention
  • Previous work experience in Employment Ontario/Employment Services model is preferred
  • Life Skills Certification and Customer Service Skills training is preferred
  • Ability to administer and interpret Level B tests /psychological instruments, Personality Dimensions, MBTI or COP System will be an asset
