We are currently hiring for a Residential Estimator for our Toronto office that will work with the sales team to complete quantity take off measurements and estimating as required within appropriate timelines and in ordinance with GNI pricing and Ontario Building Code.

This position is open to new graduates & will be offered as a hybrid role


Responsibilities:


  • Provide Sales Representatives with a breakdown of each area of the project and associate scope using standardized tools.
  • Provide clarification to Sales Representatives on plan specifications per the Ontario Building Code as questions arise.
  • Distribute completed quantity takeoffs to the appropriate Sales Representative for residential homes, low rises and subdivisions.
  • Ensure that appropriate reporting and turnaround times for quantity takeoff are maintained, using 3rd party services as required.
  • As required, when estimating (takeoff and pricing) utilize CPQ and follow Delegation of Approval (DoA) protocols including working with the Sales Representative in contact with the account, operations and DoA team to validate the estimate before the next step in the sales operations process (

CPQ:
Configure, Price, Quote estimating tool in Salesforce).

  • Complete quality check on all plans completed by 3rd party before sending to appropriate sales representative.
  • Other relevant duties as assigned.

Key Requirements:


  • Strong knowledge of OBC requirements for scope of work
  • Strong knowledge of architectural drawing interpretation
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Working knowledge of a takeoff software (Planswift, OST) or similar software
  • Building envelope principles
  • Selfstarter / Highly motivated
  • Valid WAH certification (if required to access jobsites)
  • Other applicable GNI required documentation training
