Job Summary


The Manager, AIM Production Planning is responsible for the provision of long-term strategic planning and short-to-medium-term cycle workload planning control to balance the ongoing production of aeronautical information products and data needed to support operational business requirements of the NAV CANADA customers, Flight Information Regions, airports and other stakeholders.

The Manager, AIM Production Planning is responsible to manage AIM Service Delivery unit's production capacity as well as AIM supplier's capacity to optimize AIM's production plans that will take into consideration AIM's regulatory obligations, ANS improvements and stakeholders' requirement.


Job Description:


In this role you will:

  • Manages a team of represented professionals and technical resources reporting directly or assigned to incumbent. Includes, hiring, priority setting, associated work processes/procedures/tools, productivity and performance assessment/monitoring/feedback, scheduling/approval of overtime, authorization/approval of leave, contributing to high employee engagement, providing guidance/coaching, and taking disciplinary actions when required.
  • Manages a team in a manner that promotes a culture of excellence, focused on service, safety, quality and cost management. Ensures skills and capability development of team members, with a view to strengthen performance and enhance employee engagement and career progression.
  • Leads the team responsible for the planning of production activities, production tracking, balance loading, level loading and yield measurements of AIM service delivery.
  • Leads the development and maintenance of Key Performance Indicators measuring AIM production processes to be leveraged in the development of production plans.
  • Develops and implements processes and framework to plan, create, assess, balance, and communicate the execution of AIM production plans.
  • Acts as the primary contact with procedure design suppliers delivering AIM services and products with respect to their capacity management.
  • Collaborates with AIM stakeholders, including ATS, ATS Standards, Stakeholder and Commercial Relations and Technology to coordinate the inclusion of their requirements into AIM production plans.
  • Leads various meetings with AIM Service Delivery units and other AIM stakeholders to ensure timely and successful product delivery.
  • Contributes to strategic initiatives affecting the continuous improvement of the delivery of aeronautical information management through the identification of opportunities to improve efficiencies.

What you bring:

  • University degree in a related discipline or equivalent (minimum of 5 years) production planning experience.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in production control and capacity management in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience leading employees and project teams.
  • Experience leading or participating in projects and knowledge of the principles of project management.
  • Experience working with automated production systems such as workflow management and/or manufacturing resource planning (MRP).

  • This position is based in Ottawa but may be eligible for a flexible work arrangement.
  • Occasional travel required
