    Job Duties/Responsibilities
  • 1. Monitors, generates purchase orders, and maintains inventory of food, beverage and other supplies, utilizing inventory management software.
  • 2. Maintains inventory management software database.
  • 3. Receives shipments and unpacks goods, verifying quantity and quality. Stocks goods in the correct store following a strict FIFO policy. Checks products received against purchase orders and invoices, ensuring accurate pricing. Maintains vendor records and documents supplier performance. Notifies appropriate individuals of any discrepancies and follows up with the supplier until all credits are received.
  • 4. Generates and fills requisitions, ensuring completion and timeliness, showing care and attention to food quality. Makes note on requisitions of any shortages and/or amendments as per store policies.
  • 5. Assists students and instructors, responds to questions and concerns related to the storeroom procedures, ordering, special order items and supplies. Provides support on the use of the inventory management software.
  • 6. Enters and codes invoices in preparation for payment for food and supply purchases. Enters and checks store requisitions and transfers.
  • 7. Completes quarterly inventory counts, provides inventory and transfer reports.
  • 8. Maintains clean and orderly storeroom, rotates stock for efficient storage and may make minor repairs to storeroom equipment.
  • 9. Identifies operational problems and reports them accordingly.
  • 10. Assists in maintaining information whiteboard and alerts the next shift of any outstanding items or issues.
  • 11. Attends departmental meetings.
  • 12. Performs other related duties as required.
    Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Grade 12 including 1 year of specialized training, and 1 year experience in food stores and procurement, or an equivalent combination of training and/or experience may be substituted for the required qualifications.
  • FOODSAFE Level 1

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to develop and maintain effective working relations with personnel including instructors, instructional assistants and students.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of a food stores environment, rotating stock, performing inventory control, order picking, record keeping and handling materials.
  • Good working knowledge of the English language and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to demonstrate and explain duties clearly and concisely to others.
  • Computer proficiency including MS Word and Excel.
  • Ability to learn assigned tasks readily and perform them in accordance with established procedures.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to perform repetitive manual tasks for extended periods and be able to handle moderate loads using bins and pallet lifts etc.
  • Task oriented.
  • Neat personal appearance and good hygiene.

Salary Range - Prorated based on FTE

  • PAYGRADE 18: $1,625.53 to $1,885.58 biweekly.
