Position:
Energy Division Dispatch & Operations Support - Full Time, Lindsay Ontario

Sunderland Co-operative has an exciting opportunity in our Energy Division. We are currently looking for a full-time Dispatcher. This opportunity offers a competitive compensation package, including attractive base wage, pension plan, bonus eligibility, and company-paid health benefits.

Duties and Responsibilities:
_**- Schedule and dispatch drivers, trucks and other service vehicles to appropriate locations according to customer requests, specifications, or needs, using direct personal contact and/or telephone

  • Coordinate and manage the most efficient loads to remain cost effective as a company.
  • Determine the best delivery methods.
  • Identify and evaluate any special needs for each load.
  • Responsible for keeping records, monitoring driver daily logs for errors or violations, and the monitoring of both drivers in relation to their remaining hours of service and equipment as to its availability.
  • Followup with the arrangement for any necessary repairs in order to restore service and operation schedules.
  • Receive or prepare work orders, relay work orders, messages, and information to or from operation crews and supervisors necessary to achieve successful execution of job orders.
  • Prepare daily work and run schedules while also drawing up weekly projections for work schedule and truck deployment in line with pending or potential job or delivery orders.
  • Monitor personnel and/or equipment from other locations and utilization in order to coordinate service and schedules.
  • Determine types or amounts of equipment, vehicles, materials, or personnel required according to work orders or specifications.

Qualifications_**- High school diploma (minimum) or degree in transportation or logistics

  • Must be willing to learn company specific computer programs and possess a working knowledge of Iphones/Ipads
  • Ability to work well under pressure, employing effective decisionmaking (judgment) under sometimes stressful and unpredictable circumstances (traffic, weather conditions etc.).
  • Possess good communication and interpersonal skills to be able to communicate effectively with customers and coworkers.
  • Ability and willingness to work additional hours to meet business demands.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Must be able to read and write English.

Other Job Functions_**- Responsible for maintaining company equipment according to company standards.

  • Adheres to the company Uniform Policy and maintains the appropriate professional image.
  • Responsible for conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment, scheduling preventative maintenance and repairs.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
