Reporting to the PCBA Supervisor, the SMT Technician is responsible for maintaining and supporting all facility and production equipment in PCBA, performing PM's on all Production/Process equipment as per PM program, and create programs as needed.


Responsibilites & Duties:


  • Maintain, setup and program all autoinsertion and SMT equipment
  • Program, Setup sFABD PTH Pick and Place Machine
  • Perform inspection of component on the PCB using Automated Optical Inspection (AOI), multimeter and oscilloscope and resolve any issues found to ensure conformance product specification and tolerance.
  • Assist in comparing the schematics (circuitry) for the prototypes with the engineers and determine if there is an issue.
  • Make SMT and AOI programs for different prototypes to run on SMT machines and AOI.
  • Maintain all Preventive Maintenance logs
  • Recommend and maintain required inventory of spare parts
  • Train operators to perform minimum maintenance and setup
  • Maintain all hard copy of files and computer programs up to date and back up all programs
  • Advise Supervisor or Lead Hand of any abnormal conditions
  • Keep down time of the machine to a minimum
  • Offer suggestions for continual improvement
  • Setup, operate, adjust and maintain Samsung SM421 machine, SMT equipment to include feeder carts.
  • Monitor and maintain equipment to meet company standard operating procedures.
  • Utilize assembly folders and preestablished guidelines.
  • Program, Setup SPI, and 3D Automated Optical Inspection (AOI).
  • Ensure quality assurance.

Skills Experience & Qualifications:


  • Completion of postsecondary education in an electronics or related field.
  • 5+ years of related experience.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills are required.
  • Must be able to quickly grasp the essential issues of a problem and clearly and concisely communicate the solution.
  • Able to work independently with mínimal supervision, and yet be able to function well in a team environment.
