CUPE LOCAL 1328 OFFICE, CLERICAL AND TECHNICAL EMPLOYEES

Salary Range - $1,762.43 to $2,047.41 Biweekly ($45,823 - $53,233 Annually)

(Inclusive of Benefit and Pension Plan Entitlements)

QUALIFICATIONS:

2-year College Diploma in Human Resources or related field/equivalent

Minimum six (6) months of direct experience in benefits environment

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Excel, Access, etc.)

Proven mathematical and analytical skills

SAP HR/Payroll system an asset

Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure in a deadline-oriented environment

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills


DUTIES:


Reporting to and under the direction of the Supervisor of Benefits, the primary function of this position is to facilitate and maintain all functions relating to the area of Benefits for the complete life-cycle of assigned employee group(s).

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

Process continuation of benefit invoice requests for employees on various leaves of absences

Maintain the eligibility criteria for Continuing Ed (ESL) disability coverage

Process enrolment in the Long-Term Disability plan according to eligibility

Provide benefit termination notices as required

Maintenance of the RRSP contribution plan

Calculate and verify all entries and related premium adjustments to ensure accuracy

Maintain records on the pre-authorized debit database and generate invoices for continuation of coverage

Perform system testing for benefits calculations as required

Maintain follow-up systems of all related processes

Maintain and ensure the confidentiality of information handled by the department

Compose routine letters and department correspondence.

Assist in departmental projects/peak workload as required

Perform general office duties such as maintaining filing systems, photocopying, faxing, etc.

Perform other duties as assigned or require
