Responsibilities:


Global Banking and Advisory (GLBA) combines recognized wholesale coverage with world-class product, financing, and advisory expertise within one team, enabling us to best support our clients.

On the one hand, our transversal, product-neutral coverage teams span all businesses to promote the bank's products and services to our clients globally, and on the other, we provide world-class capital raising, financing and advisory expertise.

Within the Business Management Organization of GLBA (GLBA/BMO), the Business Analyst will be covering both STC (Strategy and Clients) and ISP (Information Systems and Processes) tasks:

  • The main mission of BMO/STC is to support shaping GLBA's strategy, development, and transformation by identifying areas of business growth through analysis of internal and external client data. In addition to its core responsibilities, the STC team also helps address transversal topics for GLBA/AMER.
  • The main mission of BMO/ISP is to support the strategy, development, and transformation of GLBA by proposing solutions to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and robustness of processes and systems. Manage change and ensure a tight and efficient collaboration and coordination among the various stakeholders.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

Primary job duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

_STC (Strategy and Clients)_

  • Providing profitability analysis across Corporates, Financial Institutions and Financial Sponsors coverage clients. This includes periodic reviews of activity, support for client growth initiatives, and completion of ad hoc studies. Benchmarking SG against its peers with the aid of thirdparty data.
  • Preparing strategic presentation materials for senior management regarding GLBA/AMER's different business lines and coverage units, including regular meetings with regulators, town hall conferences, on/offsites and workshops, strategy and budget discussions, and other transversal adhoc requests.
  • Participating in developing the strategy of the department and measuring its implementation. Providing valueadded analysis and advice to steer decision making.
  • Collaborating with both business lines and support functions on transversal projects.

_ ISP (Information Systems and Processes)_

  • Maintaining close cooperation and coordination with the GLBA/BMO/ISP team in Paris and being the regional representative of that team.
  • Acting as the principal point of contact for GLBA/DIR and business lines regarding change management initiatives or other requests such process improvements, system enhancements/training, reporting etc.
  • Identifying roadblocks and/or issues and proposing innovative solutions to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and robustness of GLBA's processes and systems.

  • Competencies, Skills and Qualifications:

Required:

  • Minimum bachelor's degree in a relevant area (e.g., finance, economics, business management, mathematics, engineering etc.).
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with both local partners and teams in Paris.
  • Focus on results and pragmatic. Able to adapt and be proactive to solve problems when needed.
  • Ability to operate autonomously and efficiently.
  • Be able to work under pressure, stay agile and meet short deadlines.
  • Ability to see big pictures, understand impact of business decisions and be able to articulate and present concepts and conclusions clearly.
  • Attention to detail.

Preferred:

  • An advanced degree and/or CFA designation.
  • Experience within a financial institution.
  • Experience in transversally interacting with business lines and business partners.

Technical skills_**Required:
  • Excellent analytical skills, including quantitative/numerical analysis.
  • Advanced Excel and PPT skills.
  • Interests to learn new things and willingness to work across multiple tools/databases.

LANGUAGE:


Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is a requirement as the person in this position will need to collaborate regularly with colleagues and partners in the United States.
