We are currently seeking a qualified
HSE Instructor to join our Corporate Services
team, based out of based at the Jansen project site in Leroy, Saskatchewan.

The HSE Instructor will be responsible for all aspects of instruction and the learning experience and have the opportunity to work on the Hatch Bantrel Joint Venture (HBJV) to execute engineering and construction on the BHP Jansen Potash Mine Project in Saskatchewan.

After successfully completing the Definition Phase Study for the project, the HBJV is currently carrying out the Detailed Engineering Phase for the Processing, Non-Process Infrastructure (NPI) and Mining Areas of the 4.5 Mtpa Stage 1 Potash Mine.

With a published TIC of US $ Billion this will represent one of the largest projects and private investments in Canada.

The HBJV will use a hybrid of best-in-class new developing technologies and systems as well as the proven HBJV suite of tools to execute this exciting project.

Please note this position is not eligible for a relocation subsidy or living out allowance. This will be a camp position on 15 days on 13 days off rotation.

Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Planning, preparing, and delivering lessons to all students in the class.
  • Teaching according to the educational needs, abilities and achievement of the individual students and groups of students.
  • Assigning work, correcting, and marking work carried out by students.
  • Recording the completion of training in the electronic data base, Bistrainer and archive of paper copies.
  • Providing the option for webbased recertifications for predetermined topics.
  • Be knowledgeable in provincial workplace regulations., BHP and HBJV policies and procedures.
  • Conduct informal workshops on system training when needed.
  • Communicate and cooperating with other staff, including those having supervision over an individual of any learning gaps.
  • Reviewing and evaluating one's own teaching and learning strategies, methodologies, and programs.
  • Advising and cooperating with other instructors and the Training Coordinator in the preparation and development of courses, teaching materials, and assessments.
  • Perform other HSE Training related duties as assigned by the training coordinator.

Qualifications:


  • Underground Trainer Experience (beneficial)
  • Train the trainer certificates
  • Minimum of 5 years Industrial Construction & Basic instructional experience
  • Minimum of 2 years Supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of the provincial workplace safety and Regulations.
  • Training experience with: Working at Heights
  • Fundamentals of Fall Protection; WHMIS; Aerial Equipment; Confined Space etc. (must always maintain valid and uptodate certification).
