This is an exciting opportunity for a forward-focused finance manager to join our team at time of transformation and modernization.

Under the general guidance of the Controller, Financial Reporting, you will provide assisting the oversight of the internal and external reporting requirements, coordinate and oversee the year-end audit process, manage the month-end process, and provide exceptional customer service to internal and external clients.

Your focus will be on assisting the Consolidation of the various business units and legal entities that form Atlantic, special projects related to internal controls and process design and improvement.

Among other priorities, you will take initiative to redesign workflows, find efficiencies in business processes, leverage technology and innovative solutions to enhance accounting and reporting.


Location: 111 Progress Avenue Scarborough, Ontario (currently hybrid)

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Leads the planning of yearend, preparation of audit schedules and communication with independent auditors.
  • Assisting with the consolidation of financial results for both internal and external reporting purposes and ensure accuracy and completeness of information
  • Assisting drafts financial statements along with the required note disclosures.
  • Assists in researching and implementing new accounting pronouncements and in compiling quarterly and annual financial statements in ASPE formats.
  • Ensure high standards of control are in place to safeguard confidentiality and segregation of functions to reduce privacy breach and fraud.
  • Advise staff regarding the handling of nonroutine reporting transactions.
  • Assist with design, testing and implementation of new accounting and finance systems as applicable
  • Support the Controller, Financial Reporting with special projects related to internal controls and workflow process improvements.
  • Completing special projects and undertaking new initiatives as they arise.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:


Knowledge:


  • Bachelor's degree in business or commerce.
  • Designation as a Chartered Professional Accountant.
  • At least 5 years of financial accounting and reporting experience.
  • Manufacturing experience would be a definite asset.
  • Proactive selfstarter, with the ability to work independently and in team settings.
  • Deadline focus, and proven ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience in Canadian GAAP and ASPE reporting standards
  • Exceptional planning and reporting skills with sound professional judgement.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build solid working relationships with the stakeholders in the organization.
  • Expertise in Digital Financial Systems.
