Job Summary


Reporting to the Director, Business Process Engineer, the Analyst, Business Process is responsible to support the business processes within the Securities and Treasury Operations team.

This role requires sound knowledge of a broad range of investment products and strategies as well as capital market operations.

The individual in the position is expected to possess strong communication skills, creative out-of-the-box thinking and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to meet tight deadlines.


What you will do:

  • Assist the team in designing trade processing and settlement workflows to accurately reflect new investment products and strategies on HOOPP's Investment Book of Record.
  • Support Securities and Treasury Operations team in troubleshooting issues related to business processes
  • Identify potential process gaps and risks within Securities and Treasury operations.
  • Participate in initiatives related to regulatory changes and/or process improvements.
  • Compile business requirements and perform User Acceptance Testing related to various initiatives and system upgrades
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer to the Securities and Treasury Operations team on new investment products and strategies,
  • Obtain feedback on the effectiveness and efficiency of new workflows and processes.
  • Create workflow diagrams and desktop procedures to support cross training opportunities within Securities and Treasury Operations.
  • Maintain the team's SharePoint site to support knowledge sharing and record retention.

What you bring:

  • 3+ years of experience in a financial sector, preferably in capital markets Experience in capital market operations and on processes within Investment Operations such as trade capture, settlements and confirmations Knowledge of investment accounting standards and principles along with working knowledge pertaining to a broad range of investment products (equities, bonds, repos, loans, swaps, forwards, options, futures, and other types of complex derivative products) Understanding of related processes such as valuations, accounting, risk, security lending and collateral management Knowledge of investment systems and trading/confirmation platforms such as Simcorp Dimension, Wall Street Office, Omgeo CTM, Markitwire and DTCC. Previous experience working with Simcorp Dimension is considered an asset Computer literacy such as Excel, VBA, Visio, PowerPoint and SQL Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) to facilitate interaction with other partners in Finance, Investment Management, Legal, IT, custodian, and external vendors Excellent analytical, problem solving and conflict resolution skills Ability to meet tight deadlines and to manage conflicting priorities in a high performing culture Attention to detail, accuracy, and multitask High level of initiative, innovative and professionalism with enthusiasm and drive to succeed Selfmotivated, willingness to learn and perform own research in resolving complex issues Ability to work independently with mínimal direction or in a team setting University degree in Business or related discipline Enrolment in a professional designation program (i.e. CFA) is an asset
