RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre.

Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University.

The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position summary
The position as research assistant at the Endocrine Genetics Lab (Dr.

Constantin Polychronakos), Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre, part of the Child Health and Human development program (CHHD).

General Duties
The research assistant should desirably have experience with the following tasks:

Experiments with mice and colony management,
Cell culture,
Perform autonomously flow cytometry,
Experience with viral gene transduction, DNA extraction, PCR and gel electrophoresis,
Library preparation and sequencing,
Management of the laboratory, including support for the supervision of students, ordering materials and reagents, keeping good records etc,
Communication with different clinics around Canada for a clinical trial,

Education / Experience

Education:
master's degree in related field of study

Other requirements:

Excellent English, spoken and written, French an asset
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
Ability to work independently or in teams with minimum supervision,
Good analytical and logic skills,

Additional information

Status:
Temporary, full time (35-hour workweek)

Pay Scale:
Commensurate with education and experience

Work Shift: 8:30AM to 4:30PM
