Located in Calgary and Leduc, with projects throughout Western Canada, we are a leader in the oil and gas industry for turn-key new construction, maintenance and prefabrication and modular construction services.


Requirements:


  • Model Alstar's culture
  • Have a minimum eight (8) years oilfield construction (all aspects)
  • Have a minimum four (4) years supervision experience
  • Have proficient computer skills
  • Work with, lead and motivate workers under their supervision and that they work around
  • Organize self and crew to meet expectations in a safe, professional and timely manner
  • Equipment operating ability with hoe an asset
  • Be detail oriented
  • Be skilled and mentor in the tasks they are leading
  • Possess solid conflict resolution skills
  • Have a strong understanding of business processes and maintain Alstar's best interest
  • Maintain a strong safety presence and follow Alstar's Safety Management Program
  • Lead all company policies and procedures and insure they are being adhered to
  • Supervise workforce (generally up to 30 workers)
  • Assist Supervisor or CM in making sure the Short Service Workers are identified and are being mentored and sign off on ICAN and green workers competencies when deemed competent
  • Be able to interpret PID's, GA's, and plot plans
  • Have thorough knowledge of general piping specs, client specific specs, ASME B31.3 codes
  • Possess full understanding of pipe measuring and the Acorn drafting processes
  • Understand and interpret isometric drawings
  • Have thorough understanding of relevant construction processes
  • Assist in the following: document control, workflow and Quality Assurance / Quality Control
  • Provide direction to Project and Trade Foremen
  • Be responsible for the daily operations on the site
  • Participate in forecasting and planning upcoming scopes,
  • Spearhead organizing crews, equipment, tools, specialty rentals required to complete tasks in a cost efficient manner
  • Maintain an excellent working relationship with the client at all times
  • Show constant communication with Project Superintendent and / or Construction Manager
  • Thoroughly understand of the Quality Management Program
  • Effectively follow and use the progressive disciplinary action program
  • Contribute to Daily Progress Reports
  • As needed or directed to do so:
  • Be the company liaison to client
  • Execute manpower and equipment time spreadsheet
  • Execute safety tailgates, HAs, safety documentation, and checklists
  • Fulfill job specific field QC requirements
  • Complete all Alstar onboarding requirements, as assigned (including WHMIS 2015)
  • Complete Alstar Drivers Training
  • Possess current Standard First Aid w/CPR, Level C 2 Day Course
  • Possess current H2S
  • Provide clean A&D Test (provided by Alstar)
  • Complete Mask Fit Test (provided by Alstar)
  • Possess CSO
  • Possess CSTS (09 or 2020)
  • Possess Hazard Assessment training certificate (ACSA)
  • Have completed ABSA PPFR & QCS Course
  • Have Completed _Safety Culture
  • A roadmap to Zero certificate through ACSA_
  • Have completed Leadership for Safety Excellence (ACSA)
  • Complete Ground Disturbance for Supervisors
  • Hold a Valid Driver's license (if required for Alstar Driver Training)
  • Provide a Valid 5 year Driver's Abstract (if required for Alstar Driver Training)
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods (if required for Alstar Driver Training)
  • Be Proficient in Acorn
  • Any other qualification/safety tickets as requested or assigned by administrative team
