***: The Technical Lead is a member of a project team. As a member of a project, the Technical Lead is responsible to coordinator IT related requirements (interfacing and scheduling tasks as assigned to the various members of the Information Technology and Information Management teams). Leading a technical project, the Technical Coordinator is expected to follow established Project Management guidelines and utilize tools within the organization.


The Technical Lead is expected to be technical in nature, with working knowledge of many of our core infrastructure components within our organization (Citrix, Networks, Windows based servers, UNIX servers, Linux servers, Storage Solutions, Exchange, VOIP, VMware, Backups, SQL Database, cyber security, etc.).

The Technical Lead is expected to be knowledgeable on project management philosophy and ensure time tracking is completed, weekly status updates occur, attend meetings, interface with customers, escalated problems, initiate change requests, etc.


This role combines both a strategic component (planning, standards, business cases) and tactical component (procurement, build, test, deploy), on a variety of initiatives ranging from enterprise projects, minor project work and daily support activities.

The Technical Lead acts as Subject Matter Expert on defined core technologies enabling the development and deployment of standardized regional solutions.


WHAT YOU'LL DO:


  • Leads the investigation and recommendation of regional technology proposals (including development of business cases, RFP's) for assigned areas of responsibility (ex, Application Delivery, Productivity Tools, Physical Infrastructure, Security, Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity).
  • Leads the delivery of technology implementation activities including managing project resources and work activities for assigned workstreams in accordance with regional project management methodologies.
  • Works as part of a regional Change Advisory Board (CAB) to review and approve all technical change requests in accordance with regional policies and procedures
  • Works as part of a regional support team to resolve production critical issues (provide third level support) in conjunction with the Regional Service Team
  • Designs, builds (configures) and maintains core technologies as per assigned portfolio including asset lifecycle management.
  • Mentors supporting staff and provides training and work activity review as necessary.
  • Works with all TransForm portfolios to provide support as per agreed Service Level Agreement's including scheduled and unscheduled activities after hours as required.

DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY:


  • Responsible for making technical investment recommendations for assigned areas of responsibility
  • Shared responsibility for technology change control as a member of CAB
  • Responsible for work assignments prioritization, scheduling, and issues management for assigned areas of responsibility including task oversite for technical analyst staff
  • Shared responsibility for the upkeep and safeguarding of production systems in partnership with the Service team
  • Responsible for delivery of assigned project roles (ex, Work-Stream Leader)

WE VALUE:


  • Healthcare IT related experience an asset

MUST- HAVES:


  • Minimum three (3) year University Degree or Community College diploma in Information Technology, Business Administration or related
  • Six to ten years' experience in supporting technology solutions and/or services in a complex IT environment
  • Experience in providing wide scale technology support services
  • Experience establishing and maintaining effective relationships with clients, vendors, and team members

OTHER CONDITIONS:


  • Afterhours support to resolve critical service tickets require immediate attention escalated by manager oncall.
  • May on occasion, be exposed to additional hazards traditional found in a healthcare environment when going onsite.
  • Must be able to travel within the Southwestern Ontario area, when required
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends, when required

$38.04-$49.40 per hour
