The Research Assistant (RA) will assist with setup and coordination of large-scale pragmatic trials.The RA will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of Scientists, Biostatisticians, Epidemiologists, Trial Coordinators, patient partners and other research staff to support trials from conception to publication and knowledge translation.
The RA directly supports the Trial Coordinator to successfully carry out large-scale pragmatic trials.RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the completion of study related agreements by institutional departments
- Capture, record, monitor and promote the quality and integrity of data and prepare summary reports
- Assist in the creation and distribution of study materials to participating clinics
- Provide administrative support, including scheduling, preparing meeting agendas and required background material, producing and distributing minutes and ensuring followup of action items
- Support the creation and upkeep of standard templates, formats, checklists and shared research documentation (including DSMB documents)
- Support collaboration with participating research sites
- Support grant proposals and reporting
- Support patient engagement activities, in coordination with the patient engage liaison
- Other duties as it pertains to the role
Rate of Pay:
To commensurate with experience
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week
Duration:
One year, with possibility of renewal
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Health Administration or Science, Bachelor's degree preferred
- One year of experience working in a support role, preferably in research or project management related
- Fluent in MS Office
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to function in an environment that requires adaptation to changing organizational needs and reprioritizing workload to accommodate
- Ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and thoroughness when dealing with tasks that may involve competing priorities
- Ability to maintain strict confidence as required for the role.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the principles of patient and family centred care
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
Immunization Requirements:
- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis.
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step) and COVID vaccine series.
