Position Status:
Permanent Full Time
You Will:
- Partner with members to understand the immediate and ongoing diversity needs at all levels of the organization; ensures successful execution of inclusion initiatives at all levels.
- Collaborate with Human Resources to provide a diversity and inclusion lens to the design and implementation an organizational outreach strategy framework for attracting, engaging, and developing a diverse workforce and works closely with key stakeholders to evolve this strategy.
- Support the recruitment of diverse talent by assisting in the development of active talent pipelines for key roles utilizing a range of talent sourcing channels including social media platforms, learning initiatives (e.g. cooperative education programs), hiring events, partnerships and other strategic alliances
- Proactively identify opportunities to increase members from underrepresented groups at all levels of the organization.
- Foster inclusive leadership, collaboration, and innovation; eliminate hidden and systemic barriers to success within the Service.
You Have:
- Successful completed a University degree in Social Science or related field with additional specialization in equity matters.
- Three (3) years of progressive experience working with individuals, larger groups, external organizations and communities to implement, improve or support diversity and inclusion initiatives.
- Experience working with diversity and/or accessibility issues; a combination of employment, education, training and lived experience would be considered.
- Previous demonstrated experience with successful leading and influencing diversity and inclusion programs, steering committees, working groups, and/or focus groups.
- Canadian Certified Inclusion Professional (CCIP) Certification or Change Management Certification (CMC)
- Strong political acuity skills to mediate sensitive political situations and provide appropriate and helpful responses while mitigating damage.
- Excellent human relation skills, especially the ability to empathize and communicate effectively in an intercultural, sexual and gender diverse setting.
- A valid Class 'G' Ontario Driver' License with no more than (6) demerit points required to travel within the region.

- Able to obtain knowledge of Waterloo Regional Police Service practices, policies and procedures as well as related provincial and federal legislation.
- Able to participate as an effective team member and to support and project values compatible with the organization.
- Able to meet police security clearance requirements and maintain confidentiality.
- Able to meet testing requirements for the position.

$84,441.28
