    Description

    Nature & Scope of Position
    This role is the heart of our business operations and entails various responsibilities. A skilled Mechanic is capable of carrying out tasks such as cleaning, assembling, disassembling, inspecting, balancing, testing a gas turbine engine based on manufacturer specifications and company protocols.
    Position Accountabilities

    • Maintaining a safe and orderly work environment
    • Performing all tasks following company policies, quality standards, manufacturer & customer requirements, and industry regulations
    • Completing all relevant work-related documentation
    • Receiving incoming gas turbine engines
    • Disassembling engines when necessary
    • Conducting visual inspections and, occasionally, detailed inspections of engine parts
    • Executing borescope inspections on engines
    • Balancing rotating components
    • Assembling main engines, modules, and sub-assemblies
    • Flow testing individual components and assemblies
    • Testing engines and components
    • Preparing engines for dispatch
    • Exemplifying behaviors consistent with high-quality standards, health & safety guidelines, and environmental management practices
    Field Service Accountabilities
    • Troubleshooting, removing, installing, rigging, and conducting ground runs on engines as needed
    • Adhering to the Field Service schedule
    • Coordinating with the local team for proper scheduling
    • Traveling as required to perform field service tasks
    Qualifications
    • Completion of grade 12 or equivalent
    • Post-secondary education or relevant work experience is a plus
    • Preference given to candidates with aerospace education background
    • Prior experience as a Mechanic is an advantage, especially on PT6A, PW100, or JT15D engines
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Capability to handle basic hand tools
    • Proficiency in using precision measuring and torqueing devices
    • Familiarity with Company's quality procedures and documentation
    • Knowledge of Pratt & Whitney Canada publications and work instructions is beneficial
    • Training opportunities available for candidates who may not meet all requirements
    Working Environment
    An individual in this role should be aware of:
    • Being physically fit and having sufficient strength to maneuver parts safely without risking injury or damage
    • Willingness to travel on short notice
    • Ability to walk throughout the facility during the workday
    Weight Handling: Exerting force as needed based on tasks
    Tools and Equipment: Required safety gear such as shoes, glasses, gloves, etc.
    Work Conditions and Physical Abilities: Combination of physical activities and computer work
    Worksite Environment: Working in a shop environment with specific conditions
