Position Summary
The IT Infrastructure Analyst role will use the skills required of a Systems Administrator in an in-house or hosted environment, as well as a working knowledge of the skills required to provision, manage, monitor, and decommission in-house/cloud services.
Position RequirementsResponsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain physical/virtual servers, operating systems, software patches, upgrades, and required technical and preventive maintenance activities as needed.
- Administer and manage Microsoft 365 Applications.
- Provide Tier 3 technical support for the infrastructure systems and user endpoint devices. Provide support as an escalation point to helpdesk calls in a timely fashion as needed, ensuring that proper resolution and information is captured.
- Ensure all change management, incident management, daily checklists, and procedures are followed and that all changes are documented and then archived in the appropriate place.
- Ensure Infrastructure hardware and software inventories are always current and up to date.
- Periodic travel to satellite offices for installations and technical maintenance.
- Adhere and enforce implemented IT policies.
- Administer, perform, and fully document server backups, restores, and protocols, check log files daily, and selfaudit to test procedures to ensure viability of stored historic data on a regular basis.
- Compile/create/maintain infrastructure documentation including network topology, cabling configurations, hardware configurations, server run books etc.
- Meet and or exceed all support, personal and team specific goals, objectives, tasks as outlined in the yearly review.
- Proactively evaluate new technologies and participate in decision making regarding solving future technical issues and longterm technical direction.
- Assist in conducting the yearly Disaster recovery IT infrastructure activities.
- Draft monthly operational reports for the purposes of capacity planning.
- Provide afterhours support and maintenance when needed.
- College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or 23 years equivalent work experience.
- Certifications in ITIL Foundation, Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Fundamentals, 365 Fundamentals, Cisco CCNA/CCNP are an asset.
- Working technical knowledge of inhouse network, server, and platform operating systems.
- Knowledge of Microsoft SaaS and PaaS solutions including, Azure AD, InTune, SharePoint Online and Exchange Online.
- Experience with Microsoft corporate office solutions such as Active Directory, Microsoft Office, Windows 10 & 11 Enterprise.
- Strong system administration (Linux/Unix or Windows) at the commandline level.
- Experience with creating, running, and maintaining PowerShell scripts.
- Proficient in creating and configuring Active Directory Group Policy Objects.
- Familiarity with modern E-Mail gateway solutions; Experience with Mimecast an asset.
- Strong knowledge of network administration.
- Working knowledge of SonicWall VPN Gateway management a plus.
- Handson software and hardware troubleshooting experience.
- Experience with data management.
- Experience documenting and maintaining configuration and process information.
- Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
- Public cloud operations, including Microsoft Azure.
- Networking in the cloud.
- Storage and archiving in the cloud.
- Security, identity, and access management: IAM in the cloud.
- Deploying workload in the cloud.
- Workload monitoring in the cloud.
- Managing resource consumption in the cloud.
- Configuration management in the cloud.
- Workload automation in the cloud.
- Understanding of IT process, governance, and IT frameworks.
- Strong customerservice orientation.
- Proven analytical and problemsolving abilities.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a highpressure environment.
- Ability to make sound and logical judgments.
- Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.
- Adept at reading, writing, and interpreting technical documentation and procedure manuals.
- Ability to conduct research into hardware and software issues and products as required.
- Ability to present ideas and solutions in userfriendly language.
- Highly selfmotivated and directed.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Skilled at working within a teamoriented, collaborative environment.
- Available to work weekends and evenings as needed.
