JOB SUMMARY


As the Laundry Attendant - Team Lead, you will oversee and coordinate the daily operations of the hotel's laundry department.

Your primary responsibility will be to ensure efficient and timely laundering of all linens, towels, banquet linen, tablecloths, napkins, etc., while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and quality.

You will lead a team of laundry staff, delegate tasks, and ensure that all laundry procedures are followed diligently.

Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining inventory levels, conducting regular equipment maintenance, and upholding safety protocols within the laundry facility.

This is a unionized position, leading union staff members.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is responsible for the following tasks:

  • Lead and motivate a team of laundry attendants, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Delegate tasks efficiently, ensuring that workloads are distributed evenly among staff.
  • Conduct regular training sessions to enhance staff skills and maintain highquality standards.
  • Foster a positive working environment conducive to teamwork and productivity.
  • Oversee the daytoday operations of the laundry department, including sorting, washing, drying, folding, ironing of linens, towels, and banquet linen also stripping dirty bed linen and dirty bathroom linen from room.
  • Monitor workflow to ensure that laundry tasks are completed within designated timeframes and according to established procedures.
  • Inspect finished laundry items to verify quality standards are met before distribution to hotel rooms and storage areas.
  • Address any issues or discrepancies promptly, implementing corrective measures as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of linen and uniform inventory levels, replenishing supplies as needed to meet demand.
  • Coordinate with the purchasing department to order laundry supplies, detergents, and equipment parts as required.
  • Conduct routine inspections of laundry equipment, identifying any maintenance or repair needs and scheduling service as necessary.
  • Ensure that all laundry equipment is operated safely and efficiently, adhering to manufacturer guidelines and safety protocols.
  • Uphold cleanliness and hygiene standards within the laundry facility, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure that laundered items meet the hotel's standards for cleanliness and presentation.
  • Monitor water and energy usage to promote sustainability initiatives and costeffectiveness.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in laundry operations, incorporating innovations where applicable.
  • Other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a hotel or resort setting.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage a team.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities, capable of prioritizing tasks in a fastpaced environment.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering highquality results.
  • Knowledge of laundry equipment operation and maintenance procedures.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations related to laundry operations.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Certification or training in laundry management or related field is a plus.

Education Requirements

  • General Education Diploma (GED) or equivalent is preferred.
