- adapted physical activity. Variety Village is seeking several qualified Lifeguards to join our team of talented staff. _

Summary:

Area Coverage Attendants are responsible for ensuring the safety of our members while exercising in the following

rooms:
cardio area, general fieldhouse (track, basketball courts, etc.,), and the weight room. They are also responsible
for checking equipment to ensure it is in good working condition and answering/interacting with members or clients.
The Attendant role is also responsible for monitoring members to ensure Variety policies and protocols are being
followed.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Overseeing the safety of members using the cardio area, fieldhouse or weight room;
Ensuring the appropriate use of equipment to minimize potential injury;
Ensure accessibility by assisting members with special needs with equipment use;
Participating in training, including but not limited to Health & Safety, Covid19, the Plan to Protect and AODA;
Attending In-Service training sessions throughout the year;
Adhering to Variety Village policies and procedures;
Completing and submitting incident reports on an as needed basis;
Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Key Competencies:

Minimum age of 15 years old;
A valid certification in Standard First Aid
CPR C, AED and Airway management is an asset;
Experience and/or education in recreation, sports, physical education or education an asset;
Strong problem solving and communication skills;
Ability to complete tasks as delegated, complete administrative duties, and strong organization skills.
Available to work a flexible schedule;
Effective working with mínimal supervision.
