Job Description:


The incumbent will guide Faculty and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) through course design processes as well as course revision processes focused on online and hybrid delivery.

The Incumbent will assist Faculty and SMEs in ensuring courses meet Algonquin's quality assurance standards, accessibility standards, and policies such as AA42, as well as best practices for online and hybrid course development.


The incumbent will be required to work independently and collaboratively in a team consisting of specialists such as Curriculum Consultants, Educational Developers, and Educational Technologists.

The Incumbent will possess strong leadership and relationship-building skills, be goal-oriented, be able to deal with conflicting priorities, and possess excellent communication skills.

The Incumbent will also be responsible for staying current on research and assessing trends and technologies related to instructional design, especially as it relates to online and hybrid environments.


In addition to providing one-on-one support for Faculty, the Incumbent will deliver professional development workshops to groups of Faculty and administrators and develop online materials to communicate best and emerging practices in flexible, hybrid and online course design and delivery as well as educational technologies.

The incumbent is also responsible for technology support of in-house projects undertaken by Learning and Teaching Services (LTS).

The role involves creating online and traditional marketing and communications materials, social media management, regular website updating, continuous redesign as well as technology support for day-to-day consulting activities of the Learning and Teaching Services team.


Required Qualifications- Minimum three (3) year diploma/degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Web/ Interactive Multimedia Design, Information Technology or Marketing/Communications, Graphic Design, Computer Programming, Web Development or related field or equivalent;- Minimum of five (5) years' of progressive experience in Instructional Design, including experience in the field of Educational Technology and Multimedia Development;- Recent and up to date experience with the latest educational technologies, eLearning products and Learning Management Systems;- Experience in training and support of curriculum and course design and educational technology;- Experience in delivering technology training and supporting the integration of technology within curriculum delivery;- Experience in development and support of web, multimedia, and marketing.
