Reporting to a Program Manager, the Adult Day Services Program Worker plans executes and evaluates activities and programs that maintain and promote the physical, emotional and cognitive well-being of the Adult Day Service clients.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:


Responsibilities:


  • Researching, reporting and recommending new and updated recreational, social and motivational activities and programs for Adult Day Service clients;
  • Implementing and evaluating activities and programs for Adult Day Service clients;
  • Monitoring and assessing participant's physical, mental and emotional wellbeing and progress and adapting programs to meet their needs;
  • Providing support and direction to program volunteers and students;
  • Assisting Adult Day Service Personal Care Workers with direct client care including feeding, toileting and client supervision and monitoring;
  • Conducting Individual Program Plans for Adult Day Service Clients.
  • Activation Diploma or related education;
  • Experience working with cognitively impaired, frail and disabled older adults in a formal program setting.

Key skills and abilities we are looking for:

  • Strong organization skills and the ability to multi-task;
  • Team development and leadership skills;
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Applied computer skills (Microsoft Office, Client Information Systems, Web browsing);
  • Fluency in a second language is a strong asset and preferred.

Special Requirements:


  • Criminal background check;
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
