Major Duties:


  • The Transportation Administrator will support the daytoday functions of processing incoming and outgoing shipments from a documentation, customs and transportation perspective and be familiar with shipping and receiving practices.

Specific Responsibilities:


  • Work with the Applications team to develop cost commitments for the shipping, crating of customer machines.
  • Competitively select companies that provide the lowest cost, technically compliant solutions for the packaging and shipment of customer machines.
  • Be proficient in all modes of transportation (air, ocean, ground)
  • Help provide and execute loading plans for export freight when required
  • Proven background in scheduling/supporting internal and external customers when organizing line moves
  • Communicate any foreseeable red flags that may arise that will affect scheduling or transportation
  • Ability to multitask and maintain equal support across ATS divisions
  • Ability to focus and execute tasks in a fastpaced environment
  • Interpret logistics provider/shipment data for cost and process improvements, summarize and present findings as required.
  • Create, generate and maintain supply chain metrics to include monthly reports for performance, freight and duty expenditures, carrier usage, etc.
  • Prime for adhoc analysis on landed cost, RFP/RFQ responses and logistics requirements for new business proposals.
  • Interface with carriers and 3PLs, negotiate rates and capacity, resolve service and other issues.
  • Administer, support and review confidential carrier contracts, including SOPs, service level reviews and contract compliance.
  • Ensure carrier data is accurate and updated, including routes, annual updates and fuel surcharge programs.
  • Select, contract and execute cost effective and timely transportation requirements and prepare appropriate customs documentation and shipping information.
  • Support the evaluation and analysis of the logistics and shipping and receiving departments to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Perform freight invoice audit, resolve discrepancies and ensure rate schedules are current.
  • Interact with ATS sites/departments, logistics providers, customers and vendors on customs and transportation issues.
  • Manage inbound, outbound packages in support of other logistics team members as required.
  • The incumbent will also perform other duties as required.
  • Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the ATS Code of Business Conduct.
  • Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures.

Qualifications:


Education:


  • A postsecondary diploma in logistics or equivalent.

Experience:


  • A minimum of 5 years logistics background.
  • CCS, CITT or PLOG certification preferred.
  • A solid background in all modes of transport and customs experience is mandatory.
  • Proficient in all modes of transport with a solid understanding of the North American transportation network.
  • Knowledge in customs operations, laws and regulations.
  • Strong computer skills using MS Office, particularly Excel. Working knowledge with SAP or JDE is a definite asset.
  • Ability to work across functions and departments in order to achieve optimal process efficiencies.
  • Experience with shipping and receiving operations.
  • Strong analytical, investigative and problemsolving skills with exacting attention to detail and proven ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and teambuilding skills.
