Job Description:


Reporting to the Manager - Institutional Analytics & Planning, the position provides extensive research and analysis services on a wide range of College activities at the institutional level.

The incumbent will be responsible for the preparation, analysis, interpretation and distribution of institutional information using a variety of business intelligence tools.

The incumbent is accountable for analysis and reports that will be used to inform decision-making by the academic leadership and senior management of the college including but not limited to: research to inform strategic enrolment management and planning, environmental scans, statistical analysis and evaluation of programs.


A multidisciplinary role with considerable complexity, responsible for retrieving and analysing information from a wide variety of sources, both internal and external, the position is essential in ensuring accuracy, completeness and reliability of institutional information to both internal and external stakeholders.

A key responsibility of the position is to ensure compliance with federal and provincial privacy legislation as the incumbent will have unique access to highly confidential personal information.


Required Qualifications:

  • Three (3) year diploma/degree or equivalent related to business analytics, business administration, market research or social science;
  • Minimum of five (5) years working knowledge of data analysis, data governance, data mining/business intelligence;
  • Direct work experience of data analysis, data governance, data mining/business intelligence;
  • Direct work experience in data analysis in a postsecondary education would be an asset;
  • Direct work experience using labour market analysis and environmental scanning to identify challenges and opportunities;
  • Experience in survey development and other forms of assessment and evaluation;
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and interpret data, its business use and deliver appropriate recommendations;
  • Experience in research with a proven ability to anticipate issues related to the learning environment in higher education.
