Finance Officer

The Organization
The Opportunity
Key Responsibilities
- Perform administrative tasks related to monthend procedures, purchase orders, and AR.
- Assist with monthly reporting.
- Correspond with vendors and maintain vendor files.
- File invoices, purchase orders, and other finance documents.
- Liaise with MNA directors, Métis National Council (MNC), affiliates, and entities.
- Provide support for all other corporate duties as assigned.
Skills and Competencies
This position requires a proven level of initiative and judgment in order to organize and prioritize daily tasks and long-term objectives.
Other necessary competencies include:
- Superior organizational and administrative skills.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and prioritize requests, multitask, and meet tight deadlines.
- High level of integrity, ethics, and professionalism.
- Demonstrated ability to think, act, and speak strategically.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to deal with confidential information.
- High level of proficiency with spreadsheets.
- Ability to produce professional documents and reports.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office or other applicable software.
- Current working knowledge of SAGE 300 (ACCPAC) is an asset.
- Knowledge of Métis culture and history is an asset.
Qualifications
- A minimum of five years of recent bookkeeping experience.
- Experience in full cycle accounting.
- Accounting certificate or diploma.
Other Requirements
- Ability to work office hours of Monday
- Friday, 8:30 am 4:30 pm.
- Able to work evenings and weekends as required for events.
- Able to travel throughout Alberta on occasion.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from the office.
