The Lab Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of Chemical Lab, in-process and final Microsection, and Failure Analysis Lab.

The Lab Supervisor must set and meet output targets by fully understanding the product flow and handling procedures within the department.


  • Duties and Responsibilities:_
  • Oversee all chemical maintenance activities to include providing input and scheduling performance maintenance on all plating equipment and baths
  • Constant awareness of chemical processes, SPC control charts and overall activities related to the process control
  • Improve and maintain cleanliness and professional look of the Lab
  • Report any chemical and/or product quality issues to the Lab Manager, Process Engineers and/or Quality.
  • Product disposition of the nonconforming microsections
  • Establish, maintain and update all lab documents which include analytical microsection details and chemical bath issues
  • Maintain lab records of all analytical data for a period of at least 3 years
  • Create and maintain processes and procedures for instruction to lab technicians
  • Train and develop staff to fullest potential to meet quality and scheduling requirements which include daily coaching and interaction with employees
  • Complete certification of all new employees to confirm chemical process, microsectioning and handling training
  • Monitor product standards and recommend process improvements / quality control programs
  • Interact with vendors to ensure Truechem setup is in accordance to suppliers' recommendations.
  • Ensure stock inventory of chemicals and materials required for microsectioning; order chemicals, tools and equipment as needed
  • Work with the lab coordinator for Military submissions, thirdparty testing, production followups and record retentions
  • Participate in all internal and external audits pertaining to Lab.
  • Allocate personnel, material and equipment resource needs to meet production schedules
  • Perform performance evaluations; participate in merit adjustments and goal setting process
  • Ensure all best practices, as well as safety rules, policies and procedures are being followed
  • Essential Knowledge and Skills_:
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English to the degree necessary to perform job
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot all equipment associated with the lab
  • Proficient knowledge of process chemistry
  • Ability to analyze IPC, Military and customer specifications
  • Leadership skills such as communication, critical thinking, time management, conflict resolution is required
  • Education and Experience:_
  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, Metallurgy or equivalent Science discipline preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the printed circuit board industry
  • Progressive supervisory experience
