    Description

    Nelson River Construction is hiring a motivated General Accountant / Bookkeeper for a subsidiary company out of our office in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This position is perfect for someone who has retired from accounting/bookkeeping but is looking to work a few hours a week to supplement income.

    Summary

    This position will be responsible for the bookkeeping / full cycle accounting for Contec Projects Limited. Contec Projects Limited is a mechanical service company with approximately a dozen employees. This is a part-time position with flexibility during our working hours. The successful applicant will be responsible for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll and General Ledger Entries.

    Duties and Responsibilities

  • Accounts Payable / Receivable Invoice Entries
  • Payment Processing
  • Keep Financial Records and establish, maintain and balance various accounts
  • Post Journal entries and reconcile accounts
  • Complete Payroll Cycle
  • Other Bookkeeping duties as assigned

    • Job Requirements

  • Post Secondary Education in Payroll, Benefits, Accounting, an asset
  • Experience with accounting/bookkeeping within a construction/mechanical company an asset
  • Ability to work well independently under minimal supervision
  • Strong analytical, organization and communication skills
  • High attention to detail and confidentiality
  • Experience in Microsoft Suite Applications
  • Previous Experience in Vista or other payroll programs an asset
