CPC Pumps specializes in designing, manufacturing, testing, and servicing of engineered heavy duty process centrifugal pumps (fully API 610 Compliant) for the CCUS, Green Energy / Circular Economy, H2, LNG, Chem-Petrochem and power-generating industry since 1957.


CPC Pumps is looking for a talented professional to join our team to fill the role of
Quality Control Technician.



Purpose
The
Quality Control Technician will ensure company and customer quality standards are being met. They will conduct quality tests, perform inspection checks, calibrate equipment, and communicate test results.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Execute general inspection functions, both visual and dimensional, including correctly and properly using mechanical measuring devices and report results as required
  • Accomplish visual and dimensional mechanical inspection processes, with mínimal supervision, to the highest quality department standard while adhering to best safety practices
  • Read and interpret engineering level mechanical drawings
  • Conduct incoming, inprocess and final inspection processes confirming compliance to specifications
  • Determine acceptance or rejection of materials presented for inspection
  • Document inspection results by completing reports and logs
  • Assist team members or Production with failure and nonconforming material data recording and reporting
  • Be a participant in team member training
  • Accomplish inspection related tasks as directed by the SHEQ or Production department
  • Be a team member of the Quality department and support Production, Engineering and other internal departments to further the interests of the company as a whole

To succeed, you will need

Qualification Requirements

  • Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional analytical, detailoriented, and selfmotivator skills
  • Ability to work with mínimal supervision and proactively communicate and work closely with other departments
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Thorough understanding of basic Trigonometry and Geometry
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
  • Ability to read blueprints is an asset
  • Ability to write and/or complete general work reports
  • Ability to use precision hand measuring devices, such as calipers, height gauges, thread gauges, protractors, micrometers, bore gauges, etc.

Education and/or Experience

  • A high school diploma is preferred; a technical College Diploma or higher education is an asset to 5 years of experience in quality inspection in the metal fabrication industry or background in the machining industry
  • Knowledge and/or experience with ISO quality management systems
  • Experience as an internal auditor is an asset
  • Experience with CMM (FARO Arm) is an asset
  • Detailed knowledge of GD&T is an asset

Physical Demands

  • Comfortably able to perform repetitive motions using finger, wrist, and shoulders
  • Ability to remain standing for long periods of time during your shift

Work Environment

  • Ability to work in a high noise area
  • Ability to work around moving conveyors, forklifts, machines, and equipment
  • Must wear personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and steel toed boots
