Internal Assembler Level 1
Role
- Reporting to the Supervisor, Internal Assembly, the L1 Internal Assembler is responsible for prepare, assemble and install all the internal components and auxiliary devices of the transformer, repack and prepare the unit for tanking, after the Vapour Phase operation, under supervision and guidance._
Role Responsibilities:
- Interpreting basic drawings and blueprints in order to accomplish tasks while adhering to Manufacturing Instructions (MIs) procedures
- Supporting Internal Assemblers in the retrieval, assembly, installation of internal component and auxiliary devices
- Preparing and assembling woodwork assemblies
- Kitting insulation packages
- Prebrazing, when required as per PTI QA Manual
- Assembling woodwork from insulation packages according to drawings using wrenches and hammers
- Skinning/cutting/taping cables with knife and other cutting equipment according to blueprints
- Repacking, using wrenches, tighten bolt on unit by climbing on unit at various height levels after vapour phase is complete
- Assist with reactors assembly
- Crimping cables as required with crimping equipment within proper standards
- Operating and maneuvering overhead crane with high level of accuracy with operating partner through transformer units, and other objects as found in a manufacturing facility
- Ensuring that tasks are executed safely, following all safety protocols and procedures to protect the employees, equipment and the transformer
Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements:
- Minimum Grade 12 Education or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing, and work in a team environment
- Able to read, understand and interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches, specifications, and bill of material including terms and abbreviations as required to complete work assignments
- Ability to work in both metric and imperial dimensions
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Basic Knowledge of hand and power tool use
- Previous assembly experience, is an asset
- Manufacturing experience, is an asset
