Position Overview
Spark is currently recruiting for a part-time hourly, General Labourer. The labourer reports directly to
the Manager of Operations. This person will assist the building operators with all building operations
including outside ground maintenance, and general and preventative maintenance for the property.
The building is a LEED Gold building equipped with:
Dedicated Outdoor Air Systems (DOAS) capable of operating on 100% outdoor air
Heat recovery heat wheels and heat pipes
Chilled water & heated overhead radiant panels
Dry cooler and mechanical screw chiller
High efficient condensing boilers
RRainwatercapture for flushing toilets & urinals
Over 1.5 Mwh solar generation
New Building Automation System
Shift schedule:
_Flexible schedule. Will be Wednesday to Sunday. Hours will be scheduled between 11 am _
- to 11 pm with a week's notice of changes._
Key Responsibilities
Operate and maintain grounds, including but not limited to, lawn care, trees and shrubs, snow
and ice removal.
Assist Building operators with maintenance of the building.
Perform preventative maintenance and regular repairs.
Assist with checking, maintaining chilled, and boiler water treatment.
Assist contractors and service personnel.
Maintain the building in "showroom "condition at all times.
Ensure personal and team activities are aligned with business and strategic goals of Spark as a
whole.
Model high performance, flexibility and kindness in a rapidly changing growth environment.
Other duties as required and assigned.
Qualifications & Knowledge
Basic skills with hand tools, power tools.
Basic painting skills.
Basic landscape and snow removal skills.
Strong work ethic.
A proven track record of adding value to an organization's culture and initiatives.
A positive attitude
Desire to work on a high-performing team with a continuous upgrading culture to achieve high
impact results. Fluidity and a desire to work hard and grow are essential.
An attention to detail.
Ability to maintain a clean work area and organize tools.
Able to work indoor and outdoor.
Willingness to learn and adapt to change.
