Career Opportunity:


  • Coordinates, develops, and/or delivers employee training programs, and administers the TTC's Tuition Aid Program. Conducts career counseling for staff and union employees. Coordinates and/or assists with a variety of duties in support of the section's programs, activities, and special projects.

What You Will Do:


  • Provide one on one career and educational counselling for staff and union employees relating to a wide variety of educational courses, programs and seminars offered by professional associations, universities and colleges, and apprenticeships as well as basic job search skills and résumé and interview preparation, etc.
  • Coordinate, administer, develop and/or deliver the monthly New Employee Orientation training sessions for new staff hires and various employee training programs.
  • Conduct special training sessions to support career development.
  • Coordinate and/or assist with a variety of duties in support of the section's programs, activities and special projects.
  • Demonstrate behaviours that support diversity, inclusion and a respectful work and service environment that is free from discrimination and harassment. Help to remove barriers and accommodate employees and customers (within their area of responsibility) in accordance with TTC's commitments and obligations under the Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC) and Related Orders, the Accessibility of Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), and TTC's policies.
  • Participate in the TTC customer service Ambassador Program.

    What Qualifications Do You Bring?:
  • Completion of a post
  • secondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.
  • Several years of related work experience and previous exposure in the training and development and/or career counselling fields.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of, and the ability to apply, adult education principles.
  • Working knowledge of career counselling techniques and résumé preparation/interview techniques, and job search skills.
  • Effective presentation skills; excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong knowledge of various educational institutions and outside training agencies concerning courses, programs and products.
  • Must have, or quickly acquire, knowledge of applicable corporate/departmental policies, procedures and guidelines, including knowledge of the TTC's Tuition Aid Program and organizational structure, jobs and related qualifications as well as familiarity with the Municipal Freedom of Information & Protection of Privacy Act in relation to the work, i.e. Tuition Aid, training profiles, etc.
  • Familiarity with the TTC's mainframe PPIN system and the Learning Management System would be assets
