Burnaby Association for Community Inclusion (BACI), a grassroots and Disability Confident organization, has been supporting people with disabilities across the life span to live a 'good life'.

We've learned a lot over those years and our learning has shaped the evolution of our services, our advocacy efforts and the way we help build inclusive communities.

We recognize that people with disabilities have significant gifts and abilities to offer and in your role as Life Sharer (Home Share) Manager, you'll be supporting contractors and the people we support to live comfortably, learn and grow as we continue to strive towards our vision - a society that includes all people.

Home Share Manager Temporary Full-Time: 20 months $75,000 - $78,000 a year.

  • Knowledge and experience with screening, hiring and monitoring contractors.
  • Ability to listen and follow the lead of those we support. To develop strong and positive relationships with all stakeholders, especially the people receiving services and their support networks.
  • Ability to mentor and lead teams which include the people we support, the contractors, family members and other professionals.
  • Ability to take initiative, and get things done in an organized and methodical way.
  • Ability to implement BACI's life sharing policies and ensure that contractual obligations are met.
  • Ability to implement the Human Resources & Quality Assurance systems within the organization.
  • Ability to work on the leadership team, participate in the development and implementation of the strategic plan, and promote a culture of ongoing learning.
  • Demonstrates strong communication skills, including written and verbal; promotes and demonstrates open and positive communication with all areas of the organization.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of community partners, funders, and supports and has a good understanding of Indigenous and First Nations cultural traditions, protocols, history and contemporary issues.
  • Experience working with people who struggle with mental health and addictions.
  • Demonstrates good judgment and problem solving, strong leadership, and ability to think critically.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Credentials:


  • Related degree
  • Minimum of 35 years of experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities
  • Demonstrated superior ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team setting
  • Experience in budget preparation and financial management
  • Clear Criminal Records Search
  • TB Screening, COVID 19 Immunization Valid B.C. driver's license and an insured vehicle.
