We are hiring a
Supervisor, Biomedical Technology to support our Biomedical Engineering Department


Reporting Relationship:
Manager, Biomedical Technology


Employee Group:

Location:
Cross Site coverage is required


Hours of work (Subject to change):Monday - Friday (8 am - 4 pm) with occasional weekends


Responsibilities

  • Supervise daytoday operations of the Biomedical Engineering and Dialysis Department including supervising the departmental staff across all sites
  • Provide feedback to the Director/Manager on staff performance for annual staff appraisals
  • Assist with the coordination of staff with matters related but not limited to: recruitment, scheduling, performance management and training
  • Supervise equipment repair, installation and maintenance as required
  • Oversee transactions with the medical equipment repair program
  • Supervise and perform duties related to new equipment evaluatiuon, training, installation and service plan development
  • Assist the Director/Manager in long term planning for service provision and to coordinate agreed upon service provision changes and improvements
  • Oversee the medical equipment service contracts which includes updating the service contracts, inventory and database

Requirements:


  • Undergraduate Degree in Electronic/Biomedical Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of Biomedical Engineering experience
  • Membership with the Canadian Medical and Biological Engineering Society

Other Skills/Abilities:


  • Demonstrated strong written communication, verbal communication and interpersonal skills required
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and customer service skills
  • Computer skills including knowledge of and applied experience using Healthcare systems
  • Highly developed critical thinking, practical problem solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to complete Human Resources functions such as interviewing, performance assessments, investigations and disciplinary meetings
