    We are in search of a skilled DevOps Engineer (Onsite) to join our crew in Halifax, Nova Scotia (CA-NS), Canada (CA).

    The Platform Solutions team wants to add a Senior Software Engineer to its Frameworks & Services squad. The ideal candidate should possess substantial technical expertise and hands-on involvement in software development using contemporary methods and tools within the DevOps toolchain and application hosting platforms.
    An adept developer/engineer proficient in bash/shell coding and experienced in crafting code for CI/CD pipelines on the Jenkins core platform. Any familiarity with AWS cloud operations would be a notable advantage.

    DevOps Engineer

    Exp : 5+ years of experience

    Experience Requirements:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in designing, building, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins (Groovy) and bash scripts on a managed Jenkins Core platform
  • 3-5 years of practical exposure to AWS Resources using IaC templates with CloudFormation/Terraform and leveraging AWS cli for fetching/updating cloud resources via Jenkins Core pipelines
  • 3-5 years of overseeing Kubernetes architecture and components with Helm
  • Familiarity with microservices architecture, blue-green deployments, multi-region support, observability, and RDS

    • Technical prerequisites

  • Hands-on familiarity with creating, supporting CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins (Groovy) and bash scripts on a managed Jenkins Core platform
  • Practical experience with AWS Resources utilizing IaC templates via CloudFormation/Terraform and AWS cli for managing cloud resources through Jenkins Core pipelines
  • Management of Kubernetes architecture and components with Helm
  • Understanding of microservices architecture, blue-green deployments, multi-region deployments, observability, and RDS

    • Roles & Responsibilities:

    The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of three years of software development, operations, and full stack development experience, including iterative code/script development.

    This should encompass expertise in the following areas:

  • Data warehousing and storage solutions administration
  • Infrastructure code
  • Container deployment, management, scaling, and networking
  • GitHub actions and workflows
  • CI/CD pipelines
  • Cloud-native web frameworks
  • Application metrics, monitoring, and scaling

    • The candidate should have a background in designing and developing client-side and server-side web applications using contemporary software development methods and a robust grasp of front-end web development, including:

  • Creating, testing, and maintaining build systems, CI/CD pipelines, and tools
  • Participating in projects with an iterative (rapid product development, Agile Scrum Process) and user experience focus
  • Engagement with application deployment and containerization
  • Automation and optimization of deployment processes
  • Experience with continuous deployment environments
  • Expertise in software testing and test automation Additionally, the Full Stack Developer #1 (Dev Ops Specialist) should possess experience in:
  • Guiding and aiding less experienced developers
  • Promoting team-wide adoption of superior development practices
  • Establishing team procedures to ensure code quality (encompassing but not confined to maintainability, testability, reusability, readability, and performance)

    • The Dev Ops Specialist must boast experience in at least one of the following areas, and additional preference will be given to a Full Stack Developer #1 (Dev Ops Specialist) with knowledge in multiple aspects:

  • CI/CD pipeline frameworks
  • SQL-based ETL processes
  • Adherent application development
  • GitHub actions
  • GitHub container registry
  • Red Hat OpenShift
