Flair Airlines is currently seeking a permanent, full-time
Maintenance Controller to join our growing and ever-changing organization.

Reporting to the Maintenance Control Manager, the Maintenance Controller is an experienced licensed AME - M2 and is responsible for overseeing all line maintenance work performed to ensure that it is conducted in a safe, efficient, and compliant manner.

The Maintenance Controller provides direction for all aircraft maintenance concerns and coordinates with the various departments within the company to support aircraft schedule requirements.


Primary Job Functions:


The duties of the
Maintenance Controller include:


  • Ensure the airworthiness of the company's fleet is maintained, and communicated as the status changes;
  • Act as the central point of contact for operational aircrew, dispatch, and maintenance for technical and logístical assistance.
  • For irregular operations, outline and evaluate recovery plans with line maintenance, Technical Services, Materials, and duty operations control to minimize impact on the operation.
  • Request aircraft swaps as required to accomplish maintenance goals and make decisions regarding clearing of discrepancies/deferrals as needed. Maintain and exercise the authority and responsibility for the supervision and coordination of all Line scheduled and unscheduled maintenance;
  • Maintain constant surveillance of line station activity. Authorize the use of the Minimum Equipment List (MEL) and other deferrals.
  • Liaise with vendors for overnight maintenance regarding aircraft readiness. Ensure that work has been completed and logbook has been signed. Ensure deferred Items are within time limits authorized by the MEL; and that all maintenance and operations restrictions are complied with;
  • Produce a daily Fleet status report available to all Key Stakeholders;
  • Record all technical delays in detail and take part in Weekly Technical Delay reviews actively making recommendations for the prevention of future similar events;
  • Out of hours raise Technical requests to Boeing;
  • Confirm parts requirements for deferrals and monitor status;
  • Support the accomplishment of planned maintenance in conjunction with the maintenance planning department;
  • Coordinate all maintenance ferry flights in accordance with approved procedures;
  • Complete internal company forms, maintenance records, documents, and work orders as required;
  • Make entries in the MRO IT tracking system;
  • Complete accurate and comprehensive shift turnover reports;
  • Identify safety concerns, issues, incidents, or hazards and report them using the company's Safety Management System (SMS) program;
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned;

Safety Duties, Accountabilities, Authorities, and Responsibilities:

  • Report proactive and reactive safety issues;
  • Conduct assigned tasks and corrective actions;
  • Demonstrate knowledge of employee responsibilities regarding safety and actively participate in the company's SMS program;
  • Verify corrective action plans to evaluate effectiveness;
  • Maintain familiarity with CARS as it pertains to commercial operations and maintenance requirements;

Qualifications and Education Requirements:


  • Completion of high school or equivalent;
  • Two (2) years of Maintenance Control experience is preferred;
  • Transport Canada (TC) AME with M2 license;
  • Extensive Boeing 737 experience with NG and/or MAX endorsement;
  • Intermediate level of proficiency using Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, and Excel;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Canadian Air Regulations (CARs);
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, organizational, and time management skills required;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Knowledge of AMOS is preferred, but good IT skills are imperative;
  • Good Microsoft Office Package Skills;
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment and manage multiple tasks effectively;
  • Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, Airworthiness Directives, engineering drawings, and procedure manuals;
  • Strong work ethic;
  • Clear criminal record check;
  • Must possess a valid Canadian driver's license;
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC);
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without restriction;
  • Ability to work irregular hours or shift work that may include overnights, evenings, week
