Own and spearhead technical direction with team input and feedback
Lead development and implementation of coding standards and testing approaches
Collaborate with the Architect (if applicable) to realize technical vision and direction
Provides expert advice and counsel to key stakeholders on development project teams on complex issues related to "area of specialty".
Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in daytoday activities and decisions.
Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of daytoday business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

Indepth knowledge of programming languages, frameworks, utilities, and other technologies used by the team. Past work experience using PERL is required.
Knowledge and work experience of at least one Javascript frameworks (ReactJS, NodeJS)
Cloud computing knowledge and work experience are highly desired.
Expert knowledge of business workflow, implementation and trends.
Deep expertise in complex business or technical processes and their implications within "area of specialty".
Excellent communication skills with ability to influence decision making across stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to lead team members with differing opinions and levels of experience
