Applications are invited for the regular position of Central Stores Support Representative in the Culinary, Tourism & Beverage Studies Division, located at the Daniel J.
Reporting to the Academic Operations Manager, the Central Stores Support Representative supports the Central Stores department to efficiently distribute food product, supplies, and equipment for all academic labs.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Receive all incoming product, including food, paper, beverage, equipment, and uniforms by comparing purchase orders (POs) and invoices to promptly identify and rectify discrepancies.
- Action internal product requests to ensure proper delivery of food as per approved outlined procedures.
- Deliver food and equipment to academic labs while maintaining pristine cleanliness.
- Support faculty and the Benchmark restaurant with requests for food, equipment maintenance or other requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organized Central Stores to satisfy all health inspection regulations. Including determining use for expiring product or the designation of appropriate disposal.
- Ensure adequate inventory levels and assist with inventory counts within Central Stores and labs.
- Support student Central Stores employees, providing direction and followup on assigned tasks.
- Report maintenance issues, track ticket progress, and verify completion before closing.
Qualifications:
- Two (2) year diploma in Culinary, Hospitality and/or Red Seal; related field of study.
- Minimum three (3) years experience in a food service environment, including the management of incoming food, supplies, and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail, diligence, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Effective leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
- Superior cleanliness and organization to ensure safe and efficient food storage that minimizes waste.
- Ability to move, lift, and shift inventory ranging in weight and size.
- Food Trak or other inventory management systems experience is considered an asset.
First consideration will be given to internal employees. Internal employees are those classified as regular part-time within the Part-Time Support Staff bargaining unit.
