Functions / Duties (not in priority order or percentage of time):

  • Executes the administrative aspects of the Foundation's stewardship plan and proactively monitors and prioritizes donor stewardship activities.
  • Supports the planning, execution and delivery of the Major Gift cultivation events, including the campaign launch and internal hospital staff campaigns.
  • Supports the proper planning, preparation and execution of Campaign and Major Gift strategies and tactics.
  • Provides administrative support to campaign volunteer committee(s) including preparing agendas, meeting minutes and action notes
  • Provides calendar support for scheduling committee and team meetings and campaign related events
  • Proactively supports the Director and Senior Officers and helps to manage the prospect database including tracking assignments and follow up.
  • Prepares and coordinates briefing notes, reports and presentations for the Director and Senior Officers.
  • Assists in the development and distribution of metrics to ensure accuracy and integrity of data.
  • Provides regular status updates and reports to the Director and Senior Officers on matters and metrics.
  • Supports the administrative duties related to Campaigns and Major Gifts.
  • Oversees and participates in the preparation of detailed and uptodate research briefings on prospects and/or groups of prospects for development staff, executive team and OSMH partners, in advance of calls and events in order to obtain optimal outcomes.
  • Devises strategies for identifying new prospects in order to ensure the ongoing development, expansion and renewal of the prospect base.
  • Assists in matching prospect/donor interest to fundraising priorities.
  • Proactively monitors various news and media outlets, events, trends and issues that impact the Foundation's fundraising strategies and philanthropic environment and assists in developing prospect pipelines for specific projects.
  • Other projects to support the work of the Foundation as required.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Acts as an Ambassador throughout the Community, positively representing the Hospital and the Foundation.
  • Works as a team player promoting a positive and professional work environment and conducts role with integrity and respect.
  • Other duties as assigned from time to time in order to meet the overall goals and objectives of the Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital Foundation.
  • Abides by the policies and procedures of OSMH and OSMHF.

Qualifications:


  • Postsecondary diploma or degree in a related field preferred. Additional studies in fundraising an asset.
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience.
  • Demonstrated research skills with the ability to interpret, analyze, and summarize biographical and complex financial data.
  • Selfstarter with a bias for action, solutions oriented, has the ability to plan, organize and prioritize work while handling multiple tasks and interruptions.
  • An innovative, creative thinker with the ability to handle matters of a sensitive and confidential nature.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple and changing demands.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft corporate productivity tools, as well as Raiser's Edge or other donor database management systems.
  • Exemplary attention to detail with excellent planning, organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge and utilization of research platforms.
