Description
We are seeking a Training Specialist to join the Store Operations Team, supporting all Tokyo Smoke stores across Ontario.

The Training Specialist plays an important role in developing learning programs and facilitating training sessions for both new stores and existing retail locations.

This role is responsible for learning content design, delivery, implementation and the evaluation of employee learning and development programs.

There is also up to 30% travel required to facilitate hands-on training for new store openings, depending on the volume of new stores.


Responsibilities

  • Develop learning programs and paths to support onboarding, as well as ongoing training to support our growing store network and brand.
  • Facilitate new employee training sessions on corporate culture, cannabis education, policies and systems.
  • Identify learning needs and develop appropriate learning strategies incorporating education and experiential solutions by consulting with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
  • Develop and execute implementation plans, including draft communications in conjunction with other stakeholders within the organization.
  • Collaborate with department leaders, project leads and key stakeholders to identify training needs, design relevant solutions to support both new programs as well as opportunities to improve comprehension and execution of existing processes and programs.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the training programs and incorporate feedback on an ongoing basis to ensure continuous improvement.

Requirements:


  • Postsecondary degree or diploma in adult education, human resources, organizational development, or related field.
  • Certification in Training & Development (CTPD, CTP or equivalent) is an asset.
  • 35 years of experience in developing and facilitating training programs.
  • Experience developing and facilitating training programs in the retail and/or cannabis industry is an asset.
  • Understanding of adult learning theory; learning needs and performance gap analysis; instructional design, development, and implementation; and assessment/evaluation of learning
  • Demonstrated personal drive and sense of urgency pushing self and others for results; delivers on results in a deadline driven environment.
  • Strong project management, organizational and problemsolving skills with proven selfmanagement
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and work towards tight deadlines, including last minute changes, and alignment or resources to ensure priorities are met
  • Strong facilitation, content creation and written skills to effectively delivery impactful content to a diverse audience at all levels.

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Toronto, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
